terrible collection - I love SG1 however this collection is rubbish, thanks Fox and FACT DVD,s constantly lock as we sit through text telling us...US the poor sods that have PAID how hard done by they are and how wrong it is to copy..The first 8 in the collected sets are, so so quality, with extras that didn t inspire a second look, the next are ok, however even more adverts an warnings etc we cant skip, (spelling intended) overall a good budget collection, but the fact that on every disk you sit through several warnings has put me right off, fox dvd,s I thought this type of thing was banned in europe anyway?

A question - I was just wondering about the product details on this product.because under details it says: Language Portuguese.hopefully this is a typo and the sound track is indeed in english.anybody that can help me out?

Very good collection and much cheaper too - Amazing that this collection has been released. Very good price and also the boxsets are provided in the same packaging as the newer series of atlantis. This is far easier to store now. Well done to MGM

I have a question - - Stargate S.G. 1 - Series 1-10 - Complete/The Ark Of Truth [1997] I am thinking I d like to buy this, but before I do I would like to know if the DVDs in this set contain all the same extras/special features as the individual Region 2 DVD box-sets??Can anyone confrm this for me please? Thanks a lot,-)

bad scripting - not a good box set to buy - The premise of Stargate is so flawed that if you have any amount of appreciation for scripting and sci-fi as a genre then there really isn t anyway you ll enjoy this series very much. The viewer is asked to believe a lot of totally unbelievable senarios right from the first scene in the first box set. Namely that the US government allow 4 marines to guard the gate, turn their backs on it and play cards. AND, when the gate sends a probe through one of them picks it up and stares at it. It really is just rubbish. It is exactly the opposite to a series like Battlestar Galactica which has intelligent scripting. The strong female character demands respect on the basis that her expertise has nothing to do with the fact her reproductive anatomy is on the inside rather than the outside and she insists on being called captain - then introduces herself as doctor to everyone and feels giddy after her first trip through the gate. It s just written by blokes and is rubbish and cliched from beginning to end. The idea that to find out information by throwing a box of tissues through the gate is stupid and not funny/believable. The worst thing I found was the incredibly intrusive music - you turn the DVD up to hear the dialogue and then dow when this cheap synthesised score keeps rearing its ugly head to try and put drama where there is none.It is also worth noting that the director makes several miostake - nameluy making his presenmce felt in front of the camera rather than behind. Granted this is a difficult thing to achieve and requires a lot of talent - but maybe one day he ll get it. Notice the scene when the marine arrives at the house of the guy looking through the telescope at the beginning. Rewind it and watch it again. Clever isnt it? NO!The egyptian aliens with the massive snake helmets? Why? Its just for kids this or people who don t have any analytical appreciation for quality. If your over 16 forget it and buy Battlestar instead.
